Whole Foods is recalling cheese sold nationwide from its supplier because it could be contaminated with listeria.

Listeria monocytogenes, the organism that can cause infection, was found by the FDA during routine sampling of the market’s cheese. It was found in a whole, uncut wheel of Papillion Organic Roquefort.

According to the FDA, the recalled cheese product can be identified by the scale label that begins with PLU 029536. All sell by dates are affected.

All cheese cut and packaged in clear wrap that was sold with a Whole Foods Market scale label can be returned to the store for a full refund.

No illnesses or infections have been reported. All affected cheese has been removed from shelves.

Consumers with questions should contact their local store or call 512-477-5566 ext. 20060 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST
