Verizon Wireless plans to add 430 new jobs across the state, including more than 200 in north Fulton County, the company said Monday.

The brunt of the jobs will be at new call centers in Alpharetta and Milton, said Jonathan LeCompte, the company’s regional president. The firm also plans to add retail, network and IT jobs in offices around the state.

Verizon already employs about 6,000 people in Georgia. LeCompte said Verizon turned down state and local incentives for the expansion.

“Our business is booming,” LeCompte said in an interview. “It’s not needed. Our business has flourished and hopefully the government can use them for other purposes.”
