Verizon Wireless said it invested more than $71 million to expand its wireless broadband and voice networks across Georgia in the first half of this year.

Much of the investment reflects expansion of its 4G LTE service to new areas, including Jesup, Cordele, St. Simons Island, and Adairsville, the company said.

Since 2010, Verizon said it has invested more than $582 million on its Georgia network.
