Stock clerks at Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines are scheduled to begin voting on union representation on Oct. 25, according to the International Association of Machinists union.

The election set by the National Mediation Board will run through Nov. 22, and roughly 700 employees in the "stock and stores" category can vote by phone or online, the union said.

Union elections for Delta flight attendants and baggage handlers have already been set for different periods. The flight attendant voting period starts Wednesday.

The elections stem from Delta's 2008 merger with Northwest Airlines, and will determine whether employees at the combined Delta will be represented by unions. Employees from Northwest are mostly unionized, while those from Delta are mostly non-union.
