UGA President Jere Morehead is reorganizing the school’s economic development activities and opening an office in Atlanta with an eye towards boosting the state’s growth.

“I am convinced the University of Georgia can play an even greater role in economic development and these changes signal our intention to do so,” Morehead said.

Morehead tapped Sean McMillan, a former business recruiter and workforce development director for the state of Georgia, to run the university’s economic development office. McMillan will link the university’s research and outreach programs to the state’s business and economic development groups.
