HD Supply, the Atlanta-based industrial distribution company, continued to narrow its losses in the company’s second quarter.

HD Supply lost $56 million for the three-month period, as compared to $101 million for the same period a year ago.

In a statement, HD Supply CEO Joe DeAngelo said the company is creating new and sustainable revenue drivers and is adding key customers. The company’s sales increased 9.8 percent, to $2.1 billion, over the second quarter of 2011.
