Three metro Atlanta country clubs were acquired by Sequoia Golf Group, a company that owns and operates multiple golfing operations across the metro area.
Newnan-based Sequoia said it acquired the Atlanta National Golf Club in Milton, Polo Golf & Country Club in Cumming and White Columns Country Club in Alpharetta. The company said the properties were foreclosure purchases.
Sequoia President Joe Guerra said his company, which owns or operates more than 50 private clubs and resorts, including operations under the Canongate brand, plans to invest more than $4.5 million in capital improvements at the newly acquired clubs. He did not disclose the value of the acquisitions.
“We plan to substantially improve the overall theme, feel and exclusivity of these great clubs with an intent focus on membership satisfaction and service,” Guerra said in announcing the deal.
Atlanta National Golf Club is located in the gated community of Atlanta National just north of Atlanta. It is on 240 acres and features an 18-hole Pete Dye course.
The Polo Golf & Country Club also features a tennis club and aquatics center in addition to an 18-hole Joe Lee golf course.
The White Columns Country Club also features an 18-hole Tom Fazio course and a golf learning center and fitting center.
Sequoia also designs and renovates golf courses.
