The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Monday announced a reward of up to $20,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a South Georgia bank director and money manager who allegedly embezzled $17 million from his failed bank.

Former Montgomery Bank & Trust director Aubrey Lee Price, 46, vanished in mid-June. Price was charged earlier this month with wire fraud in federal court New York. His bank was shut down on Friday.

Separately, the Securities and Exchange Commission in Atlanta obtained an order last week to freeze Price's assets, accusing the investment adviser in a civil complaint of defrauding more than 100 clients, mostly in Georgia and Florida.

A letter bearing Price's name that was sent to friends and colleagues around the time of his disappearance said he had lost millions of dollars in client funds and suggested he intended to commit suicide.

Authorities say he was last seen on a ferry leaving Key West, Fla.

Price is believed to travel regularly to Venezuela and Guatemala. Price, who goes by his middle name, is 5-foot-7, 170 pounds with light brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing tan shorts, a white T-shirt and a maroon baseball hat.
