Report: 3 US cars make top 10 list for first time since 1998

Tesla Model S leads pack in Consumer Reports list

For the first time since 1998, three of Consumer Reports' top 10 cars are from U.S. manufacturers, Bloomberg reports.

Topping the 2015 list is Tesla's Model S, which Consumer Reports named best overall, Bloomberg reports.

Tesla is the youngest U.S. auto manufacturer, Bloomberg reports, and the company has announced plans to add two more cars to its line.

The other two U.S. cars on the list are the Buick Regal, named best sports sedan, and the Chevrolet Impala, named best large car, according to Bloomberg.

Here's the full top 10, according to Consumer Reports:

Best Overall: Tesla Model S

Luxury Car: Audi A6

Sports Sedan: Buick Regal

Midsized Sedan: Subaru Legacy

Large Car: Chevrolet Impala

Green Car: Toyota Prius

Compact Car: Subaru Impreza

Small SUV: Subaru Forester

Midsized SUV: Toyota Highlander

Minivan: Honda Odyssey
