Powerball jackpot surges to $250 million
Get out your lucky rabbit’s foot, visit your favorite fortune teller, stare into those tea leaves.
Now’s the time to pull out all stops to win the next Powerball jackpot — now estimated at a staggering $250 million — after no one matched all six numbers in Saturday evening’s multi-state drawing that was worth $214 million.
Those numbers were: 3-15-27-58-59, and the Powerball number was 20.
There were some nice consolation prizes.
One lucky winner in Texas who paid an extra dollar as a ‘powerplay’ matched five of the winning numbers, but not the Powerball, for a prize of $2 million.
Five other winners — in Florida, Illinois, New York and Texas — who didn’t choose to pay the extra dollar, won $1 million by matching five numbers.
The next Powerball drawing is set for Nov. 21 at 10:59 p.m. for $250 million over 30 years, or $166.8 million for a lump-sum payment.
The Powerball game is played in 42 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Powerball numbers are drawn live Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
