NCR Corp., the Duluth company that licenses the Blockbuster name for its own DVD rental kiosks in stores, announced it is adding more of the kiosks in Georgia and elsewhere.

Blockbuster Express kiosks will be added in 207 BI-LO grocery stores in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. They will replace 168 competitors' rental kiosks that were already in some stores.

While Blockbuster filed for bankruptcy late last month, NCR said the bankruptcy would not affect its relationship with the company. Prior to the announcement, NCR had about 200 rental kiosks around Atlanta and more than 7,000 nationwide. It intends to have 10,000 by the end of 2010.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
