One of Atlanta’s biggest law firms has decided it will remain downtown.
McKenna Long & Aldridge renewed its lease in SunTrust Plaza for 15 years, to expire in 2028.
The firm would have had many brand new office towers to consider in Buckhead and Midtown, and is big enough its lease could have kicked off a brand new building.
But the firm opted to stay in SunTrust Plaza, Atlanta’s second tallest office tower. It was designed and developed by John Portman Jr.
“We remain deeply committed to Atlanta’s central business district and we are delighted to extend our lease at SunTrust Plaza,” said Jeff Haidet, chairman of the law firm, in a statement.
The firm occupies the 45th to 55th floors of the 60-story tower, and is the building’s second largest tenant after SunTrust.
