NCR, the Fortune 500 maker of ATMs and checkout systems, said Wednesday it has appointed Mark D. Benjamin as the company’s new president and chief operating officer.
Benjamin, 46, is formerly a top ADP executive who oversaw 20,000 employees in the firm’s global enterprise solutions unit. His responsibilities will include overseeing product development, sales and supply chain operations, a news release said.
He will report to NCR’s Chairman and CEO Bill Nuti, whose title previously included the role of president.
“I’m proud to have a person of his integrity and background joining my team,” Nuti said in the release. “This is the right time to add this critical role at NCR. The company is performing well, we have established momentum in key markets and solutions, and a continued focus on execution is our top priority.”
NCR, based in Duluth, has spent years overhauling its business to include software and services. The company plans to move its headquarters into a new complex in Midtown Atlanta near Technology Square starting in early 2018.
A company spokesman said Benjamin will be based in Atlanta upon the opening of the company’s new headquarters. Nuti is based in New York City.
NCR recently announced plans to expand the project to include a second tower and that the campus would hold 1,800 additional jobs on top of the 3,600 employees previously announced for the first phase. The second phase is expected to open in 2019.
