Atlanta-based law firm Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton said Monday it has opened a Los Angeles office.

Kilpatrick Townsend added a team of seven attorneys formerly with the firm Keats McFarland & Wilson, including intellectual property specialists in the entertainment, technology and fashion industries.

Kilpatrick Townsend has a sizeable intellectual property practice, representing top tier retail, food, hospitality and automotive brands. The firm said in a news release it set a goal of having a Los Angeles office since the 2011 merger of the former Kilpatrick Stockton with Townsend and Townsend and Crew.

“We evaluated numerous opportunities and our patience was rewarded,” said Paul M. Aguggia, the chair of Kilpatrick Townsend, said in the release.
