A data security firm plans to relocate its headquarters and create more than 100 jobs in Roswell over the next two years, the state and company said Wednesday in a news release.

Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said Courion plans to expand its existing Roswell office and hire sales and software development personnel in support of the headquarters. Courion has offices in Massachusetts, the United Kingdom and India.

Courion helps companies protect and manage employee-access to critical systems and information. The firm specializes in “identity analytics.”

Georgia is a major player in information and online security. The state has more than 115 such companies, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and is home to the headquarters of the U.S. Army Cyber Command in Augusta.

“Information security is thriving in Georgia, employing nearly 200,000 workers,” Chris Carr, the state economic development commissioner, said in the release.

Courion Chief Operating Officer Chris Papadakis said the move “will enable us to take advantage of the hotbed for talent and innovation in information security that exists in the area.”
