The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said Wednesday it will give $750 million in grants, including $12.8 million in Georgia, to nonprofits building or rehabilitating housing for poor seniors or disabled Americans.

Three grants will come to metro Atlanta. Mercy Housing Southeast will get $5.1 million to build 43 one-bedroom units for very low income elderly people. Right in the Community in Austell will get two grants of $422,600 each to build ten units for a resident manager and the disabled with low income.
