Home sales dropped in September, but are roughly the same as during the same month a year ago, according to the monthly report from The Atlanta Board of Realtors, which was released late Monday morning.

Last month, metro Atlanta saw 3,601 homes sold, down 15 percent from August, but the sales level was just 1.5 percent below that of September, 2013, according to the report.

The median sales price of homes sold in September was $213,000, slipping just 3.2 percent from August. But September’s median was up 13.9 percent from a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the supply of homes listed for sale remains unchanged: listings were equal to 4.4 months of sales.

The board’s data is compiled by First Multiple Listing Service.
