Anthony Smith Advisors

In addition to retirement planning, this Atlanta-based firm also helps people with investment and wealth management and income, gift and estate tax planning. The company strives to "provide long term, personal guidance to those seeking financial counsel, in various stages of their financial lives."

Bank of America

Bank of America offers online advice from creating a budget to how to apply for a mortgage. However, when it comes to planning for the future, customers can set up a face-to-face meeting or a conversation by phone with a Merrill Edge Financial Solutions Advisor™. Take note: before the meeting happens, pull together all of the information you can find on your current financial status—including savings, current investment holdings and debts like credit card balances and student loans—to help your advisor tailor a plan that fits your needs.

Credit Unions

Almost all credit unions offer retirement planning to members. Credit Union of Atlanta is no exception. If you are unsure which one to go with, do some online research. The Better Business Bureau may be able to provide some insight.

Harmon Financial

With over 40 years of experience, this Atlanta company specializes in advice for families. With an extensive list of expert counselors to choose from, clients are able to lock down a plan to invest successfully.

SunTrust

SunTrust approaches retirement planning from where you're at in life; just starting your career, mid-level professional, nearing retirement or retired. You can find pertinent questions online for each of these life stages, and even a retirement calculator to help you achieve your retirement planning goals. In addition, SunTrust offers some online advice about 401(k) rollovers and offers a free face-to-face meeting with a banker.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo hits the ground running with advice on how to hire a financial advisor. It also offers a face-to-face meeting with a banker to discuss your finance goals. It's easy to make an appointment. Call the nearest bank branch, or go online to make an appointment.
