LG Hausys America plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Adairsville, about 60 miles northwest of Atlanta, to make engineered stone countertops. The facility will be located adjacent to the company's existing plant, where it makes solid surface countertops.

The company said the project will create 80 new jobs and represents a $50 million investment. Hiring for the 95,000 square-foot plant is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year. The company will collaborate with Quick Start, Georgia’s workforce training program, to expedite the training schedule for new workers.

“Advanced manufacturers like LG Hausys employ more than 10 percent of Georgia’s workforce, so I’m pleased to celebrate this company’s significant efforts in strengthening Georgia’s diverse economy," said Ken Stewart, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
