A job fair hosted by Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Monday drew thousands to the Georgia International Convention Center.

About 3,000 pre-registered for the job fair and others are showing up as walk-ins, said airport spokesman Reese McCranie. Some 30 employers at the airport are hiring for more than 500 jobs, including cashiers, cooks, baggage handlers, sales associates and other positions.

“This is just the natural turnover at this time of year for these types of positions” as the airport prepares for the busy summer travel season, McCranie said. The job fair runs through 3 p.m.
