'Best of Enemies'
Taraji P. Henson, who stars in "Empire" and filmed "Hidden Figures" in Atlanta, headlines this civil rights drama that's based on a true story. She portrays Ann Atwater, an activist who battles Ku Klux Klan leader C.P. Ellis until they co-chair a two-week meeting about court-ordered desegregation, changing both of their lives.
What are they looking for?
The following roles are being cast:
- Caucasian males age 18 and up are needed to portray members of the Ku Klux Klan. Actors, not pro-white activists, are sought, and no racism, sexism, etc. will be tolerated on set. All looks are accepted, but they're especially seeking men who look like clean-cut, upstanding family men. (Subject: "BROTHERHOOD")
- Younger Caucasian males over age 18 are needed, but you should appear to be 16 to 17 years old. You'll play a member of the Klan's Youth Corps and should be physically fit and be willing to exercise on camera. (Subject: "YOUTH CORPS")
- Young Caucasian girls 18 or older that appear to be 15 to 17 years old or younger are needed to ride on a parade float. You should have natural hair with no highlights or unusual colors. You don't need to have any cheerleading experience, but if you do, note that in your submission. Wardrobe fittings will be required at a date to be determined. (Subject: "CHEERLEADER")
- African-American boys and girls age 10-15 are needed for major roles as middle and high school students. Children shouldn't have crazy haircuts, colored hair or braids or be willing to remove them. Wardrobe fittings will be required at a date to be determined. (Subject: "REPORT CARD").
- Caucasian boys and girls ages 10-15 are needed for major roles as middle and high school students. Children shouldn't have crazy haircuts or colored hair. Wardrobe fittings will be required at a date to be determined. (Subject: "TEXTBOOK")
- Caucasian and African-American males and females age 18-80s are needed to appear in church and city hall meeting scenes. You should have natural hair with no highlights, unusual colors, crazy cuts, braids, weaves or wigs. Wardrobe fittings will be required at a date to be determined. (Subject: "TOWNFOLK")
When are they filming?
Filming will take place in the Atlanta area from May-July.
