Jobs in engineering, business, health, computer science and education are among the most popular occupations for graduates of various Georgia colleges and universities.
For Clayton State University graduates, the top occupations are business management, health professional, information technology and logistics management, said Bridgette McDonald, the university's director of Career Services.
Tammy DeMel, executive director of Strategic Communications for Kennesaw State University, said, "Unfortunately, we do not have job titles or occupations of our graduating students. However, we do gather data on where they are employed."
Based on KSU students who graduated during the 2014-15 academic year, among the top employers are area school districts (Cobb, Cherokee and Fulton); area healthcare organizations (WellStar Health Systems, Northside Hospital, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory Healthcare, Kennestone Hospital); AT&T; Ernst & Young; The Coca-Cola Company; The Home Depot and PricewaterhouseCoopers, she said.
Additionally, DeMel said a little more than 10 percent of the 2014-15 graduates planned to attend graduate school.
For The Georgia Institute of Technology, a 10-year career-and-salary survey of 2006-16 graduates, with bachelor's degrees, does not show occupations but does show a median annual salary of $60,000 and median bonus of $5,000.
Of the 12,351 job seekers, 65.4 percent participated in the survey.
While the Georgia Tech survey does not show occupations, the graduates came mostly from the majors of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, management, computer science and electrical engineering,
For The University of Georgia, career outcomes for 2013-14 graduates show that, of the 8,763 graduates, 76 percent responded.
Of those 2013-14 graduates responding, 63 percent are employed full time, 15 percent are in graduate school, 8 percent are seeking jobs, 7 percent are employed part time, 4 percent have internships, 2 percent are self-employed and 1 percent are not seeking employment.
Top UGA job titles for 2013-14 graduates are account coordinator, account executive/manager, accountant, administrative assistant, analyst (business/financial), assistant professor, associate attorney, audit associate, consultant (associate), law clerk, management trainee, marketing coordinator, pharmacist, research associate/assistant, sales representative, software developer, speech language pathologist, teacher, underwriter and veterinarian.
Career outcomes for 2014-15 UGA graduates show 85 percent responding of the 8,479 graduates.
Of those 2014-15 graduates responding, 64 percent are employed full time, 19 percent are in graduate school, 5 percent are seeking occupations, 5 percent are employed part time, 4 percent have internships, 2 percent are self-employed and 1 percent are not seeking employment.
For UGA 2014-15 graduates, top job titles are account executive, assistant professor, audit associate, business analyst, consultant, financial analyst, medical assistant, pharmacist, sales associate and teacher.
