Six Flags Over Georgia

As guests flock to Six Flags Over Georgia over the summer, the park will need an influx of seasonal employees with a wide variety of skills to help ensure guests have a great time. Job openings at Six Flags include everything from ride attendants to lifeguards to paramedics – and even costumed Justice League characters. Last year, the park hired around 3,000 seasonal employees.

Since jobs at Six Flags involve a lot of interaction with guests, they're looking for friendly, enthusiastic employees. Six Flags recruiters especially like to see big smiles and professional dress from potential employees.

YMCA of Metro Atlanta

The YMCA needs plenty of summer employees to help with its many camps as well as with swim lessons and other special programs.

Over 275 open jobs are currently listed at locations throughout the metro Atlanta area, but the actual total available is even higher, since one listing may have multiple openings. A summer camp counselor listing for Atlanta, for example, has 15 openings. Some jobs are already starting, and others are seasonal.

City of Atlanta's Camp Best Friends

The city of Atlanta is already hiring for summer positions for its Camp Best Friends. Camp activities are centered on academic enrichment, health and fitness, character and leadership development, technology and community. Campers participate in sports, reading, creative writing, drama, arts, outdoor adventure, music and more.

The city is looking to fill seasonal, part-time positions that include camp counselors, activity leaders, lifeguards and van drivers.

The Home Depot

Headquartered in Atlanta, The Home Depot is a major employer throughout the year. During spring and summer, however, hiring steps up as homeowners come out of hibernation to improve their yards and work on home improvement projects. Jobs are available at The Home Depot's corporate headquarters or at its many metro Atlanta stores.

In general, the company looks for employees who are inquisitive and want to learn and will bring innovation and teamwork to the table, according to Eric Schelling, senior director of talent acquisition with The Home Depot's corporate office in Atlanta.

Stone Mountain

Stone Mountain's operating hours are extended during spring break, the summer and holidays, so hiring increases during these times. Job openings include positions for ride operators, performers, candy makers, puppeteers, gift shop attendants, accountants, animal caretakers and interpreters.

The park looks for employees who are friendly and enthusiastic and have a positive attitude.
