Delta passenger traffic roughly flat in 2011

Jan 6, 2012

Delta Air Lines passenger traffic remained roughly flat in 2011 compared with 2010, according to the airline's year-end traffic report. The Atlanta-based carrier's passenger traffic declined by 0.2 percent last year.

Meanwhile, Delta's planes averaged 82.1 percent full for the year, down from 83 percent in 2010. That's partly because the airline increased its flight capacity by 0.8 percent last year.

Delta has said it plans to cut its flight capacity by 2 percent to 3 percent this year.
