Delta Air Lines has launched a program centered around special events when it allows travelers to apply for a chance to sit next to leaders in their industry during a flight.

Atlanta-based Delta said the program called “Innovation Class” debuted in conjunction with the TED2014 conference this week in Vancouver, which Delta sponsors. Delta selected Pebble Technology CEO Eric Migicovsky as the “mentor,” then gave Patten Studio CEO James Patten the opportunity to fly with Migicovsky from Salt Lake City to Vancouver.

Delta plans to host more Innovation Class flights later this year, including one centered around the James Beard Awards in New York in May featuring a pairing with chef Sean Brock. Travelers apply through LinkedIn.
