Atlanta-based Cypress Communications is merging with Broadvox of Dallas.

Both are leading Voice Over Internet Protocol and unified communication service providers.

Cypress has been providing hosted communications to small and mid-sized businesses for more than 25 years.

The closing date of the merger is subject to regulatory approvals, among other terms and conditions "customary for transactions of this type," the companies said in a release.

Because both companies are privately held, no other merger details will be available at this time, they said.
