Cox Enterprises said Thursday it entered into an agreement to sell two of its Texas newspapers to Houston-based Southern Newspapers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but the sale involves the The Lufkin Daily News and The Daily Sentinel of Nacogdoches.
The sale follows Cox's August 2008 announcement it sought buyers for most of its weekly and daily newspapers. The properties for sale are in Texas, Colorado and North Carolina and include the Austin American-Statesman. Its properties in Ohio and Georgia, including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, are not for sale.
