A company recently formed to bring together some of the biggest brands in home maintenance and repair in the country has made Marietta its headquarters.

The Wrench Group, parent of regional maintenance brands Coolray, Berkeys, Abacus and Parker & Sons, has chosen Georgia for its home, despite having divisions in several other cities, including Dallas and Houston.

Ken Haines, formerly president and CEO of Atlanta’s Coolray Companies, will lead Wrench as CEO effective July 1, the company said Monday.

The new company will bring about eight to 12 new jobs to Cobb County. The business handles HVAC work and plumbing repairs as well as electrical services.

Haines said in a release that “by leveraging our strong local brand recognition, sharing best practices and working collaboratively across the business, we are well-positioned to expand within our current regions and enter into new attractive geographies as we significantly expand our scale.”

The four companies under Wrench’s umbrella serve more than 140,000 customers across Texas, Georgia and Arizona. Abacus and Berkeys is in Dallas and Houston while Parker & Sons is in Phoenix.
