Atlanta real estate development firm Carter is planning a $40 million mixed-use development in Decatur to be anchored by 233 apartments.

The project, known as 315 West Ponce, will also include about 10,000 square feet of retail fronting the street, according to a news release. The site borders West Ponce De Leon Avenue, Ponce De Leon Place and Montgomery Street, and the new development will share a new parking structure with an existing office building.

The site is near the Decatur Square and Decatur MARTA station. Construction is expected to start in the summer, Carter said.
