Modular carpet tile maker Interface said Wednesday it plans to move its offices from Vinings to Midtown Atlanta.

Interface, known for its environmentally-friendly manufacturing system, said it would unite its headquarters office and two other corporate offices at a low-rise office building at 1280 West Peachtree Street near the Arts Center MARTA station.

Interface makes carpet tile that’s typically found in commercial settings. Its brands include Interface and FLOR.

“Moving our global headquarters to Midtown Atlanta allows us to present our design-focused brand, and to demonstrate our commitment to create innovative workplaces that best support our employees’ needs,” Interface President and Chief Operating Officer Jay Gould said in a news release. “This new space will help our team work together more collaboratively in a creative and nature-inspired space, as well as provide easier access to the heart of the city and bring the vibrancy of Interface to the city.”

The company said its new offices, to open in mid-2018, will feature interiors inspired by nature and a number of environmentally-friendly attributes. It will also serve as a showroom for the company’s products.

Perkins+Will will serve as designer, Parkside Partners is the owner and developer of the project and JLL served as Interface’s real estate consultant on the job.
