Atlanta is stuffed with pricey homes for sale.
The city has 622 active listings for $1-million-plus homes, according to data from Coldwell Banker. That’s the eighth most in the nation and more than places such as Washington D.C., Houston, San Diego and Las Vegas. Here’s who had more: New York, Miami, Miami Beach, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Fort Lauderdale and Naples, Fla., in that order, according to Coldwell Banker.
Atlanta doesn’t rank quite as high nationally when it comes to the number of $1-million-plus homes actually sold. It came in 19th in those recent closings, according to the company.
“At one point, Atlanta was probably the second-worst market in the country behind Phoenix, but that’s
changed, and now we are seeing multiple offers” being made on many properties, Charlotte
Sears, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Atlanta, said in a report sent to press.
Local demand for higher-priced homes focused in areas such as Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, East Cobb and Alpharetta.
