On Friday, Perfect Game USA announced it has signed a lease to move its 50-person-plus headquarters to Bartow County from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The firm specializes in baseball recruiting for college, minor and major league scouts. It will move into a new development called Dream Parks at LakePoint Sporting Community and Town Center.
It will consolidate most of its baseball tournaments involving 1,600 teams at the development in Emerson near Lake Allatoona on I-75.
The news broke in December about the up to $1 billion sports complex that will be developed by Watkins Retail Group and has investors such as former Braves manager Bobby Cox.
Plans call for a large indoor facility for wrestling, cheerleading, gymnastics and volleyball, 16 baseball fields, 12 soccer/lacrosse fields, as well as offices, stores and 4,000 hotel rooms.
Last month, North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA) and LB3 Lacrosse completed their lease to move into the development.
The first games are expected to be played in 2013.
