Atlanta airport manager search moving forward

April 17, 2014

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said he was meeting Thursday with five candidates for the position of general manager of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Next will come the selection of a smaller group of finalists for the role of replacing Louis Miller, who retired from the helm of the Atlanta airport at the end of last year.

Miguel Southwell is serving as interim general manager of Hartsfield-Jackson and is also a candidate for the permanent position.

Reed said he plans to talk with Delta Air Lines chief executive Richard Anderson on Friday about the airport manager candidates, as well as about the mayor’s recent trade mission to Brazil. Reed said there are opportunities for Delta to expand its market in Rio de Janeiro and in Sao Paulo and to expand the relationship between Delta and Rio.
