Two local Wet Seal stores will close this week as part of 350 other closings nationwide of the teen clothing retailer, according to a store manager.

Stores at the Dayton Mall in Miami Twp. and the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek are scheduled to shutter on Tuesday, said Assistant Manager Victoria Short.

Employees were told Friday about the closings. Sales associates were given an one-day notice and six days for managers, Short said.

The only Ohio store that will remain open is at Easton Town Center in Columbus.

Wet Seal Inc. said last month in its regulatory filing there was substantial doubt it could continue operating. The company received Jan. 2 a notice of default on $27 million in senior convertible notes, according to the Wall Street Journal.
