The traditional workweek is going to shrink for a select group of employees at Amazon.

The Washington Post reports that Amazon will test out a 30-hour workweek for a small group of tech product employees working in the human resources division of the online retailing giant. The part-time employees will be salaried and receive the same benefits package as 40-hour per week workers, but they will only receive 75 percent of the pay that full-time workers earn.

The few dozen employees expected to be part of the pilot program will be expected to work the core hours of 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, but the rest of their hours can be worked on flex time. Those who want to work full-time will have the opportunity to transition, according to an Amazon spokesman.

The 40-hour workweek will remain in effect for the rest of Amazon’s workforce. According to the Amazon spokesman, there are no plans to offer the 30-hour workweek companywide.
