Breakfast really is the most important meal. For McDonald's bottom line, anyway.

The Golden Arches began offering all-day breakfast in October, and McDonald's sales have been on the rise ever since.

Frequent customers had been calling for the change for some time. Now all-day breakfast is also luring new and lapsed customers.

Sales growth has pushed McDonald's stock price up 17 percent since October.
