College Park police believe the Monday night triple shooting at a local apartment complex may have been a robbery set up through a popular online dating site.

Lt. Reed Pollard said officers responded to the Embarcadero Club Apartments on Sullivan Road at about 11:35 p.m. after witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing several men drive off in a silver vehicle. Shortly thereafter, officers in East Point located the shooting victims.

One was shot in the shoulder, another in the leg and a third in the buttocks, Pollard said. All were expected to survive their injuries.

"The investigation so far reveals that the three subjects were possibly set up for a robbery from the website ' Plenty of Fish ,'" Pollard said.

Plenty of Fish bills itself as having "more dates, more relationships, more visits than any other dating site." According to its website, it has more than three million users.

No further information regarding the shooting was released. The investigation is ongoing, Pollard said.
