Happy Stimulus Birthday
The much maligned economic stimulus law turns one year old today, even more controversial maybe than when President Obama signed his name on that legislation back in February of 2009.
Last night, the Obama Administration issued yet another report trumpeting what officials argue are the certain positive effects of the stimulus. You can read that at http://bit.ly/9MOwUz .
The White House is using today's anniversary to keep up the drumbeat of public pronouncements in favor of the plan, with a slew of events today, led by remarks from President Obama at the White House.
The public relations push today includes events around the nation:
* The Secretary of Interior in Seattle
* Labor Secretary Solis makes stops in Phoenix
* The Transportation Secretary unveils new plans in Kansas City
* Education Secretary Duncan highlights spending in Virginia
* The Veterans Secretary has an event in Ohio
* The Small Business Administrator talks up plans in Arkansas
* Other events take place in Coloradio, Missouri and California
So, look for a number of stimulus related spending items to be announced by the Obama Administration on this anniversary.
Hopefully I can get some good stuff to post as well, with a lot of details on what areas are getting how much in stimulus grant dollars..
