Wheeler basketball star Jaylen Brown, the consensus No. 2 senior recruit in the country, was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor traffic violations on Wednesday, according to Cobb County police.

The charges were driving on a suspended license and a stop sign violation. According to Brown's booking sheet, the traffic stop occurred on Roswell Road in Cobb County and he was booked at 10:55 a.m. Brown was released on $1,300 bond.

Later on Wednesday, Brown was slated to be at a McDonald's on Roswell Road from 1 to 3 p.m. for a local sendoff for the McDonald's All-American Game, to be played next Wednesday in Chicago. It was announced that Brown would not be able to attend, but he arrived on time and received an award.

Brown, who has not made his college choice, has been feted in recent days with awards. On Tuesday, he was honored as the boys state player of the year during the Atlanta Tipoff Club's Naismith Awards Banquet. Last week, he was named the state's Gatorade boys basketball player of the year.
