Warner Robins hired Houston County offensive coordinator Mike Chastain as its head coach on Tuesday, the Macon Telegraph reported.

Chastain replaces Bryan Way, who retired after 12 seasons as head coach.

Chastain, a Northside-Warner Robins graduate, has been part of Warner Robins’ three major rivals – Northside as (2002-04), Veterans (2011-12) and Houston County (2013-15).

Houston County was 28-9 in Chastain’s three seasons of running the offense. Houston County quarterback Jake Fromm was the Class AAAAA offensive player of the year in 2015, when Houston County scored at least 34 points in 13 of 14 games, including the quarterfinals, when Houston fell to eventual champion Allatoona 59-47.

Warner Robins was 92-48-1 in 12 seasons under Way and won a state title in his first season, 2004. The team was 7-4 in 2015.
