Three things to know: 1. Buford has averaged 52 points in its first two games, including a 77-0 victory against Berkmar last week. As usual, the Wolves have spread the offensive workload. Christian Turner is the leading rusher with 73 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. QB Mic Roof is 10-for-11 passing for 103 yards and two TDs. 2. McEachern is loaded in the passing game, with QB Bailey Hockman (committed to Georgia) and receivers Tyler Smith (Rivals 4-star), Tyler Simmons (3-star) and C.J. Windham (Middle Tennessee). But it was the running game that made its mark in a 50-14 victory over Tucker at the Corky Kell Classic. The Indians rushed for 271 yards and six touchdowns, led by Sam Jackson's 161 yards and three TDs on nine carries. 3. McEachern will represent the biggest regular-season threat this season to Buford's 42-game winning streak, which ranks No. 4 in state history. Buford's 47-game streak from 2001 to 2004 is the record, and the Wolves would be in line to break that on Oct. 23 at home against North Oconee.

Camden County at Glynn Academy

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Glynn County Stadium, Brunswick

Records, rankings: Camden County is 2-0 and No. 10 in Class AAAAAA; Glynn Academy is 2-0 and No. 8 in AAAAA.

Last meeting: Camden County won 46-17 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Camden County has played a total of less than four and a half quarters in its victories against Lincoln (Fla.) and Dutchtown because weather problems forced both games to be called off early. Brandon McMaster has rushed for 234 yards on 22 carries for the Wildcats, who had 245 yards on 23 plays in one half last week against Dutchtown. Deandre Gardener has 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. 2. Glynn Academy's Garrison Hurd had 96 rushing yards, 59 receiving yards and three touchdowns in a 28-0 victory over city rival Brunswick last week. The Red Terrors have a balanced offense that averages 268 yards per game (149 passing, 119 rushing) and have given up just 14 points. 3. Camden County has won 10 consecutive games against Glynn Academy in a series it leads 12-3. Camden has posted seven shutouts in that 10-game stretch, and Glynn's 17 points last year were the most against the Wildcats since a 31-13 victory in 1985.

Carver (Columbus) at Creekside

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Arrowhead Stadium, Fairburn

Records, rankings: Carver is 2-0 and No. 10 in Class AAAAA; Creekside is 2-0 and No. 9 in AAAAA.

Three things to know: 1. Felix Harper, a three-year starter who was a sophomore on Creekside's 2013 state championship team, passed for 252 yards in last week's 30-7 victory over Hughes. He's committed to Army. Creekside's most high-profile recruit is OL Aaron Dowdell, who is committed to Georgia. Juniors WR Khalil McClain and LB Savon Cooper also are Division I prospects. 2. Carver was sluggish in its 21-7 victory over typically easy Spencer and didn't break lose until Javontay Smith's 38-yard interception return made the score 14-7 late in the third quarter. Smith is committed to North Carolina. QB Jawon Pass (Louisville) has completed less than half of his passes in both games this season. DT T.J. London and junior LB Giovannia Moore, both D-I prospects, are Carver's best-known defensive players. 3. In the 2014 game, Creekside PK Chizco Alejandre made field goals of 35, 32 and 22 yards, the last one with 3:53 left that provided the margin of victory. It was the first time the teams had played each other and was set up by former Creekside coach Olten Downs, who had been a Carver assistant.

Eagle's Landing Christian at GAC

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Spartan Stadium, Norcross

Records, rankings: Eagle's Landing Christian is 1-1 and No. 1 in Class A; Greater Atlanta Christian is 1-1 and No. 2 in AA.

Last meeting: Greater Atlanta Christian won 23-16 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. ELCA has rushed for 500 yards in its first two games, led by Trevor Gear (191 yards, two touchdowns) and Josh Mays (147, one). Tackle Chandler Reeves graded out at 96 percent last week, spending much of the night going up against Stockbridge's Charles Wiley, an AJC Super 11 player. LB Chase Burdette (committed to Clemson) leads the team with 18 tackles. 2. GAC QB Davis Mills was 7-for-8 for 135 yards and three touchdowns in one half during the Spartans' 55-21 victory last week over North Oconee, a game the Spartans led 34-0 at the end of the first quarter. Mills, who has a reported 20 offers from Division I schools, passed for 270 yards in a season-opening loss to Benedictine. Markus Young had 90 of the team's 149 rushing yards against North Oconee. 3. GAC's Darius Slayton (now at Auburn) caught a game-winning 22-yard TD pass with 58 seconds remaining in last year's matchup. The loss was one of six straight to open the season for ELCA, which recovered to reach the Class A private-school championship game.

Fitzgerald at Irwin County

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Indian Field, Ocilla

Records, rankings: Fitzgerald is 2-0 and No. 2 in Class AA; Irwin County is 1-0-1 and No. 6 in A.

Last meeting: Fitzgerald won 40-12 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Fitzgerald's running game has been overpowering in its two season-opening, three-touchdown victories. Junior J.D. King has rushed for 456 yards and two touchdowns, and sophomore James Graham has 308 yards and five TDs. Fitzgerald rushed for 436 and 510 yards against Worth County and Heard County. 2. Irwin County LB/FB D.J. Pollard was the Region 2-A defensive co-player of the year in 2014 and the only Indians player on the Class A preseason all-state team this year. He scored three touchdowns on offense last week in a 32-14 victory over Berrien. The Indians will be without two-way starter Ty Hogan, who tore his ACL. Hogan was a second-team all-region defensive back last season. 3. Fitzgerald is 14-0-1 in its past 15 meetings with Irwin County and leads the series 41-17-3. Irwin County stopped a 13-game losing streak in the series with a 20-20 tie in 2013 but hasn't beaten the Purple Hurricane since a 32-13 victory in 1999.

Landmark Christian at Pace Academy

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Pace Academy Athletics Complex, Mableton

Records, rankings: Landmark Christian is 2-0 and No. 5 in Class A; Pace Academy is 2-0 and No. 5 in AA.

Last meeting: Landmark Christian won 27-21 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Pace Academy RB Jordan Payne has rushed for 190 yards, caught five passes for another 61 yards and returned an interception for a touchdown. QB Gunnar Faulk is 21-of-31 passing for 304 yards. WR Trey Blount (three SEC offers) has five catches for 101 yards. DL Anthony Trinh had four tackles for losses in the 34-3 win over Our Lady of Mercy last week. PK Samuel Sloman has three field goals and nine touchbacks. 2. Landmark Christian preseason all-state RB Lofton Tidwell has rushed for 399 yards in two games and returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. QB Stockton McGuire has passed for 259 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns. CB Payton Hayes has made 10 solo tackles and broken up eight passes. 3. Landmark rushed for 303 yards in the 2014 game. Pace muffed the opening kickoff, leading to a quick Landmark score. Pace got within 27-21 with three minutes left, but Landmark ran out the clock.

Lassiter at Walton

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Raider Valley, Marietta

Records, rankings: Lassiter is 2-0 overall, 0-0 in Region 5-AAAAAA and unranked; Walton is 2-0, 0-0 and unranked.

Last meeting: Lassiter won by forfeit in 2014 after Walton's 59-16 victory was overturned for use of an ineligible player.

Three things to know: 1. Both of these East Cobb schools peaked in 2011, when Walton beat Lassiter in the state semifinals. Walton was 3-0 after the 2014 victory, but all three victories were forfeited. Walton went 2-5 down the stretch. Lassiter went 1-9, the only victory the Walton forfeit. That ended Lassiter's six-season run of making the playoffs. Both teams are ranked in at least one poll this season with their 2-0 starts. 2. Walton is averaging 263.5 yards passing and 255.5 yards rushing. K.K. Brooks has rushed for 205 yards and four touchdowns. QB Addison Shoup's top target is TE Sam Letton (13 catches, 201 yards, three touchdowns). LB Joey Goodman has two sacks and two blocked punts. 3. Lassiter RB Mason Waters has rushed for 138 and 130 yards in his two games this season. QB Cooper Cross is 15-of-29 passing for 326 yards and two touchdowns. WR Cole Taylor has nine catches for 254 yards and two touchdowns. LB Kyle Syvarth has a sack and an interception. Mitchell Wasson (41.0 per punt) is one of the state's best punter/kickers.

Mill Creek at Dacula

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Barron Field, Dacula

Records, rankings: Mill Creek is 2-0 and No. 8 in Class AAAAAA; Dacula is 1-0 and No. 9 in AAAAAA.

Last meeting: Dacula won 28-21 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. This is a non-region game, but still a big rivalry, as the two are bordering school districts in northwest Gwinnett County. Dacula won last season after shutting Mill Creek out in the second half and forcing three turnovers. 2. Mill Creek has shown a balanced offense. RB Daniel Leconte has rushed for 184 yards and four touchdowns on 43 carries. QB Cameron Turley is 28-of-40 passing for 400 yards and three touchdowns. WR Edmond Graham has 10 catches for 91 yards. The best defenders are probably DL Tyler Vernon and LB Sidney Otiwu, who have mid-major offers. OL Robbie Bell is committed to Louisville. 3. Dacula LB/RB Jakob Brashear made preseason all-state. He has more than 170 tackles and 900 rushing yards in his three seasons as a starter. Dacula trailed in its opener against Collins Hill 22-7, but Chase Isler sparked a comeback by returning the second-half kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Ty Harris ran an interception 55 yards for another score, and Dacula won 36-22.

Washington County at Mary Persons

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dan Pitts Stadium at Mitchell Field, Forsyth

Records, rankings: Washington County is 0-1 and No. 10 in Class AAA; Mary Persons is 1-0 and No. 8 in AAAA.

Last meeting: Washington County won 31-0 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Mary Persons held Jackson to 2 yards rushing in a 28-21 victory last week. The Bulldogs also survived a lost fumble in overtime by stopping Jackson on both drives. QB Jake Johnston was 16-for-21 passing for 141 yards, and RB Zach Harvey rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries. 2. Washington County QB Houston Channell rushed for 223 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-42 loss to Thomson. RB Darius Tucker (155) rushed for more than 150 yards, but Thomson had more than 500 yards of total offense and over 400 rushing. It ended Washington County's 21-game regular-season winning streak. 3. Washington County has won eight straight in this series, most recently losing in the 1993 Class AA semifinals. In the 2014 game, Mary Persons drove the ball but couldn't get it in the end zone. Washington County QB A.J. Gray (now at Georgia Tech) had 232 yards passing and 104 rushing.

Woodward Academy at St. Pius

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, George B. Maloof Stadium, Atlanta

Records, rankings: Woodward Academy is 1-0 and No. 3 in Class AAAA; St. Pius is 0-1 and No. 7 in AAAA.

Last meeting: St. Pius won 28-21 in the 2014 Class AAAA semifinals.

Three things to know: 1. Playing without AJC Super 11 RB Elijah Holyfield, who was out with a minor injury, Woodward Academy was limited to 48 yards rushing on 19 carries but cruised past Decatur 34-7 last week. QB Ryan Glover passed for 154 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 31 yards and a TD. Holyfield's status for this week has not been revealed. 2. St. Pius rushed for 202 yards on 46 carries but managed just two field goals by Nick Jones (41 and 30 yards) in a 17-6 loss to Blessed Trinity last week. Ransom Klinger led the rushing attack with 68 yards on six carries, and Lawson Cooper rushed for 52 yards and had two receptions for 20 yards. Jones also averaged 50.2 yards on four punts. 3. The St. Pius victory in the semifinals last year avenged a 42-21 loss to the War Eagles in the regular season. Holyfield rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in the first matchup. Woodward Academy leads the series 14-4-2 and has won 13 of the past 15 meetings.
