The 33rd annual AJC Super 11 team was announced this past weekend.
Five years ago, these were the biggest stars in Georgia high school football, the 2012 Super 11. Three have played in the NFL, and three more are in NFL training camps hoping to join them.
Overall, it was a better-than-average class, both athletically and academically.
*Montravius Adams, Dooly County: Adams was a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He was a first-team All-SEC player and second-team All-American (AP, AFCA, CBS) as a senior defensive tackle at Auburn last season. He had 36 career starts. In high school, Adams was an Under Armour All-American and a top-25 national recruit. He led Dooly County to the Class A championship game.
*Vonn Bell, Ridgeland: Bell is the starting strong safety for the New Orleans Saints and had 87 tackles last season as a rookie. Bell was a three-year starter in Ohio State's secondary and was an All-American as a senior. He was rated the No. 2 safety prospect nationally coming out of Ridgeland, where he was a two-way star player with 146 tackles and more than 1,700 all-purpose yards on a state runner-up team as a senior.
*Shamire DeVine, Tri-Cities: DeVine, a 6-foot-7, 380-pound guard, is a fifth-year senior with 16 career starts at Georgia Tech. DeVine was memorable in high school for his team's massive offensive line that included two other 300-pounders, Jeremi Hall and Dominique Threatt, who went to South Florida. All three got all-state recognition at some point.
*Tyren Jones, Walton: Jones was the Class AAAAA offensive player of the year when he rushed for 2,375 yards as a junior in 2011, leading Walton to a 14-1 finish. Jones played a season at Alabama but was dismissed after a drug-related arrest and academic problems. He played a year in junior college. In February, Jones was charged with felony assault after allegedly hitting a man and a woman with a handgun in Cobb County.
*J.J. Green, Camden County: Green graduated from Georgia Tech in May but is back for his fifth-year senior season this fall. He started 10 games as the A-back last year and was noted for his blocking skills on the edge. Green originally signed with Georgia and played one season as a running back and another at defensive back before transferring. He was a first-team all-state high school player who excelled on offense, defense and special teams.
*Brandon Kublanow, Walton: Kublanow was a three-year starter at Georgia who got some all-SEC recognition as a junior. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens and was placed on injured reserve last week. Kublanow was a two-time first-team all-state player at Walton and helped lead the Raiders to the state finals in 2011.
*Carl Lawson, Milton: Lawson was a fourth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. A defensive lineman, Lawson made first-team All-American (FWAA, Phil Steele) and All-SEC (coaches, Phil Steele) as a senior at Auburn as he had 12.5 tackles for losses and nine sacks. He was rated the No. 1 DE prospect nationally by 247Sports while at Milton.
*Johnathon McCrary, Cedar Grove: McCrary, going by the name of Johnny, started 12 games in two seasons at Vanderbilt, then applied as a graduate transfer, originally to play at Mercer but winding up at Clark Atlanta. Going by Johnathon again, as he did in high school, McCrary threw for 1,903 yards last season - including 456 against city rival Morehouse - and was named preseason offensive player of the year in the SIAC last month. At Cedar Grove, McCrary threw for 9,025 yards, which was second in state history at the time, since passed by three others.
*Robert Nkemdiche, Grayson: Nkemdiche was the consensus No. 1 recruit nationally out of Grayson, maybe the most celebrated Georgia recruit since Herschel Walker. He led the Rams to their first state title in 2011 and was the all-class player of the year. At Ole Miss, Nkemdiche was a four-year starter who began getting all-America recognition as a sophomore. He was a first-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2016 and is competing for a starting job this season.
*Eddie Printz, Lassiter: Printz played two seasons as a backup quarterback at Missouri and transferred to Texas State for his junior season but chose to forgo his final year and signed to play with Gulfi Firenze, an Italian professional team, this summer. Printz now lives in Austin, Texas, working in real estate and finishing a master's degree. Printz passed for 8,751 yards and 74 touchdowns in his Lassiter career.
*Demarcus Robinson, Peach County: Robinson was a fourth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft and played in three games as a rookie. Robinson had 105 career receptions at Florida. Robinson had 48 receptions for 960 yards and 12 touchdowns in 11 games as a senior at Peach County.
