Records, rankings: Westminster is 7-4, the No. 3 seed from Region 4-AAA and unranked; Callaway is 10-1, the No. 1 seed from 5-AAA and No. 6.
Last meeting: Westminster won 34-15 in the first round of the 2011 Class AA playoffs.
Three things to know: 1. Westminster is in the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season. The Wildcats are 8-1 in first-round games during that stretch but 1-6 in the second round. Westminster reached the semifinals last season. Callaway has had a similar run over the past 10 seasons, going 7-3 in the first round but 2-4 in the second. The Cavaliers advanced to the semifinals in 2013. 2. Westminster advanced with a 31-7 victory in the first round against Southeast Bulloch, which has not won a state playoff game since 1973. The Wildcats held Southeast Bulloch to nine first downs and 125 yards rushing, well below its 285-yard average, according to the Statesboro Herald. Malcolm Strickland blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown, and Rankin Worley had a 5-yard touchdown run and intercepted a pass. 3. Callaway RB Cedric Maynard rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries in the Cavaliers' 38-20 victory over Hart County in the first round. He has 2,301 yards and 23 TDs on 222 carries for the season. Hart County cut the lead to 17-14 midway through the third quarter, but Tyrek Frazier returned the ensuing kickoff to the Hart 26-yard line to set up a touchdown.

Winner plays: Adairsville/Jackson winner
Adairsville at Jackson
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Red Devil Hill, Jackson
Records, rankings: Adairsville is 10-1, the No. 2 seed from Region 6-AAA and No. 8; Jackson is 9-2, the No. 1 seed from 2-AAA and No. 9.
Last meeting: This is the teams' first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Adairsville and Jackson have third-year head coaches who have revived struggling programs. Adairsville's Eric Bishop is 27-7 at a program that had won just two playoffs in the 10 seasons before he took over. Dary Myricks, a Jackson alumnus, was 2-8 in his first season with Jackson but improved to 7-4 in 2014 and 9-2 this year, and he led the Red Devils to their first region title since 2009. 2. Adairsville scores 38.3 points per game, the second-highest average in the Class AAA field. The offense starts with senior RB Sidnee Johnson, who rushed for more than 1,500 yards during the regular season. Johnson had 111 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers' 35-7 victory over Franklin County in the first round. A victory this week would put Adairsville in the quarterfinals for the first time since 2001. 3. Jackson got two touchdown runs each from Ira Sheppard (58 yards, 8 yards) and Antavius Grier (41, 62) and two touchdown passes from Shaderious Crowder (35, 6) in a 42-6 victory against Butler in the first round. The Red Devils needed five plays or less for all six touchdown drives and led 42-0 at halftime. It was Jackson's first playoff victory since 2009.

Cedar Grove at Oconee County
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Titan Stadium, Bogart (moved to North Oconee High because of field problems at Oconee County High)
Records, rankings: Cedar Grove is 9-1-1, the No. 2 seed from Region 4-AAA and No. 3; Oconee County is 9-2, the No. 1 seed from 8-AAA and unranked.
Last meeting: This is the teams' first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Cedar Grove RB LaBron Morris, the leading rusher in DeKalb County with 1,379 yards, was held out of the Saints' 47-0 first-round victory over Pierce County because of a lingering injury but is expected to play this week. In his absence, Tre Shaw ran for 258 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Shaw also made seven tackles on defense. Elysee Mbem-bosse made 11 tackles, returned a fumble 26 yards for a TD, and had two catches for eight yards and a score. 2. Oconee County has a balanced offense that averages 182.5 yards rushing and 158 passing per game. The Warriors were held to a season-low 91 yards rushing last week in a 38-7 victory over Cedartown, but QB Zeb Noland was 11-of-18 passing for 265 yards and two touchdowns. Oconee County led 10-7 at halftime, and Tyler Davis returned the second-half kickoff 77 yards for a touchdown to provide some breathing room. 3. A victory this week would give Cedar Grove its first 10-win season since 1991. Saints third-year coach Jermaine Smith, who was suspended from the Pierce County game after being ejected the week before against Blessed Trinity, is 25-9-1 at the school. Oconee second-year coach Travis Noland is 2-0 in first-round games at a school that hadn't won a playoff game since 2004.

Records, rankings: Westside is 8-3, the No. 4 seed from Region 2-AAA and unranked; Sonoraville is 8-3, the No. 3 seed from 6-AAA and unranked.
Last meeting: This is the teams' first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Sonoraville, which opened in 2006, picked up the first playoff victory in school history when it beat East Hall 49-28 last week. The Phoenix made playoff appearances the past two seasons but lost in the first round. Westside is more of a playoff staple. The Seminoles have won eight or more games 11 times in their 19-year existence and are in the playoffs for the seventh time in eight seasons. 2. Sonoraville had two 200-yard rushers in the first-round victory. QB Cody Long rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries, and RB Hunter Lay had 201 yards and three TDs on 14 carries. Sonoraville rushed for 486 yards as a team and did not punt in the game, and the defense forced a fumble and had three interceptions. 3. Westside's 21-12 victory over No. 1-seeded Laney last week completed a four-game sweep for the Seminoles' Region 2 against Laney's Region 3. Westside was held to a season-low 208 yards (85 rushing, 123 passing) but limited Laney to 132 yards. QB Savion Knowlton rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and passed for 123 yards. Elbert County at Dodge County
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Memorial Stadium, Eastman
Records, rankings: Elbert County is 9-2, the No. 3 seed from Region 8-AAA and unranked; Dodge County is 11-0, the No. 1 seed from 1-AAA and No. 4.
Last meeting: This is the teams' first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Elbert County is in the second round for the third time in the six-year tenure of coach Sid Fritts. Elbert won its second-round games in 2011 and 2014 but hasn't advanced beyond the quarterfinals since winning a state title in 1995. Dodge County is trying to move to 12-0 and reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 1999. 2. Elbert County QB Mecole Hardman is the nation's No. 1 player at the athlete position in 247Sports' composite rankings. He rushed for 301 yards and both Blue Devils touchdowns on 35 carries on a muddy field in a 17-7 victory over Central of Carrollton last week. Elbert County rarely passes - Hardman threw one pass, an incompletion, last week. 3. Dodge County is primarily a running team (292.9 yards per game rushing, 57 passing), and it has been particularly strong lately, averaging 423 yards rushing in the past three games. Kyle Glover had 113 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in a 45-3 victory over Jackson of Atlanta last week to give him 1,035 yards for the season. QB Clint Thompson has rushed for 576 yards, including 114 last week, and attempts less than seven passes per game.

Winner plays: Peach County/Calhoun winner
Peach County at Calhoun
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Phil Reeve Stadium, Calhoun
Records, rankings: Peach County is 9-2, the No. 2 seed from Region 2-AAA and No. 10; Calhoun is 11-0, the No. 1 seed from 6-AAA and No. 1.
Last meeting: This is the teams' first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Peach County went 10-0 in the regular season in 2014 but was upset by Appling County 14-7 in the first round, snapping a streak of five consecutive first-round victories. Defending state champion Calhoun has won 26 consecutive games and is in the second round for the 15th straight season. 2. Peach County's James Jackson, Antonio Gilbert and Otha Redding each ran for two touchdown in a 42-0 victory over Josey in the first round. That's typical for a team that has a balanced offense (162.8 yard per game rushing, 141.6 passing) and spreads the opportunities. QBs Tyrique McGhee (55-for-98, 812 yards in the regular season) and Gilbert (47-for-87, 604) have similar numbers, and no back ran for more than Jackson's 382 yards in the regular season. 3. Calhoun has the top offense (48.5 points per game) and top defense (7.9) in AAA. The Yellow Jackets are led by QB Kaelan Riley, who was 18-of-23 passing for 274 yards and three TDs and ran for a score in a 34-7 win over West Hall in the first round. Olico Dennis rushed for 136 yards and scored on a 4-yard run. Calhoun led 13-7 at halftime and was held to less than 54 points for just the fifth time this season.

Jefferson at Blessed Trinity
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Blessed Trinity Stadium, Roswell
Records, rankings: Jefferson is 10-1, the No. 2 seed from Region 8-AAA and No. 5; Blessed Trinity is 10-0-1, the No. 1 seed from 4-AAA and No. 2.
Last meeting: Blessed Trinity won 28-21 in the 2014 Class AAA quarterfinals.
Three things to know: 1. This is a rematch of last year's quarterfinal game that Blessed Trinity won in overtime. Blessed Trinity's Conor Davis threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Pat Jasinski on the first play of overtime, then the Titans held Jefferson to 6 yards on four plays to preserve the victory. Blessed Trinity lost to Washington County 28-17 the following week. 2. Jefferson has been more reliant on the run than in recent years, thanks in large part to the emergence of running back Colby Wood. The sophomore was held to a season-low 62 yards rushing in a 49-0 victory against Pepperell last week, but he surpassed 2,000 yards for the season (2,027), ran for two touchdowns and returned an interception 35 yards for a score. Zack Boobas ran for a season-high 189 yards and two TDs. 3. Blessed Trinity's offense is led by RB Milton Shelton and QB Davis. Shelton had a season-high 235 yards rushing and ran for two scores in a 40-14 victory over Cook last week, giving him 1,504 yards for the season. Davis is 71-for-125 passing for 1,314 yards and 15 touchdowns. The leading receiver is Ryan Davis (25 catches, 546 yards, four touchdowns).

Records, rankings: Spencer is 8-3, the No. 3 seed from Region 2-AAA and unranked; Dawson County is 8-3, the No. 1 seed from 7-AAA and unranked.
Last meeting: This is the teams' first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Both teams got off to slow starts but went on to have historic seasons for their schools. Spencer was 1-3 overall, 0-2 in 2-AAA, after a 28-12 loss to Central (Macon) on Sept. 25 but overcame that to reach the playoffs for the first time since 1993 and earn its first GHSA state-playoff win. Dawson County was 1-2 going into region play but is 7-1 since then, picking up its first region title in school history and first playoff win since 1999. 2. Tyrell Smith scored two touchdowns as Spencer built a 27-7 lead in the first half and held on for a 47-34 victory against perennial playoff team Washington County in the first round. Ervin Davis scored two touchdowns, and Daymeonta White returned a fumble for a score. Spencer is assured of having a winning record for the first time since 1977. 3. Tucker Maxwell had six receptions for 224 yards and four touchdowns and returned an interception for another score. Hunter Mitchell ran for 181 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.
