Tiamya Butler scored 15 points and led a stout defensive effort as Southwest Atlanta Christian knocked off Lakeview Academy 56-47 in the Class A Private quarterfinals at Kennesaw State.

SACA advances to meet St. Francis in the semifinal on Saturday at 3 p.m.

No. 12 seeded Southwest (17-11) also got 13 points and 25 rebounds from Dominique Banks and 13 points from Chyna Cotton.

No 4 seeded Lakeview (23-7) got a 31-point performance from Hanna Grogan, who had five 3-pointers. She was the only player in double figures and only four girls scored for the Lions.

The first half was a tale of two completely different quarters. Lakeview came out bombing and hit four 3-pointers to take an 18-7 lead. But SACA began to use its size advantage to control the glass and enable the Warriors to quicken the pace of the game. SACA went on an 11-0 run and grabbed the lead 19-17 with 4:13 left in the half.

The Warriors stretched the lead to 27-21 at the half when they made 7 of 8 from the line in the final two minutes.

Grogan shot Lakeview back into the game with a rally that began late in the third quarter. The Lions got to within four points at 39-35, but SACA scored three unanswered baskets and Lakeview never got any closer than five points.
