If Jammie Robinson isn't the all-around best player at Lee County, he's at least the cherry on top of what has been one of the more dominating defending champions in some time.

"We felt like we had a really strong team going into the summer," Lee County coach Dean Fabrizio said. "Obviously Jammie has added to that. He came in and earned the respect of his teammates here with his humble attitude and work ethic. While he has played outstanding on defense, he has

probably made a bigger impact on special teams. He is as good a player in the return game as I have seen in my 25-plus years of coaching."

Robinson [first name pronounced like Jamie] is a shutdown cornerback on a defense that is allowing just 3.75 points per game. He has returned three kicks for touchdowns. Robinson had rushed for more than 1,000 yards each of the past two seasons at Crisp County, but he hasn't needed to play both sides of the ball with the depth that a strong AAAAAA school provides.

Robinson is new to GHSF Daily's Player of the Year Watch, a fun look at some of the state's best players. Players naturally will drift in and out, and that should not be taken as a critique of their season. It is an honor to appear in the POW Watch even for a single week.
