There hasn't been too much movement in the top 10 rankings since last week's debut of this lacrosse blog, but the Centennial boys and Walton girls both relinquished their No. 1 rankings. Here's a look at the top 10 teams according to LaxPower.com, along with some highlights from the past week:

  • North Gwinnett topped Duluth 18-1 on Tuesday and the Bulldogs have now outscored their opponents 129-28 to start the season. No team has come closer than seven points of them, though they've yet to play a ranked team. They close out the week against Roswell, AAAAAA's defending state champions.
  • Centennial dropped to No. 2 in the rankings thanks to North Gwinnett's hot start, but the Knights remain undefeated. They beat Northview 18-8 on Tuesday, and all of their wins have been double digits except for last week's 22-13 win over West Forsyth. They'll close out the week on Saturday at home against Harrison.
  • North Gwinnett topped Centennial 16-3 on Tuesday and the Lady Bulldogs are off to their first 5-0 start in program history. Elizabeth Blumthal and Shannon Costelloe led the way with 5 goals, with Haley Gorke adding 3 goals and Katie Knazek adding 3 assists. Samantha Gladstein had 5 saves, moving her season save percentage to 56 percent.
  • West Forsyth is 1-1 so far this week, suffering its first loss of the season, 20-15 to Johns Creek on Monday and bouncing back with a 17-9 win over Archer the next day. Madison Mueller notched her 200th career goal against Johns Creek and has totaled 10 goals this week. Sarah Grady also has 10 goals and Kelly Guthrie has 5 goals so far this week.
