The longest-tenured coaches in AAAAA are from Atlanta Public Schools - Eric Williams at Jackson and Darren Myles at Carver. And both are coming off historic seasons. Jackson won its first playoff game and won a school-record nine games. Carver won its first region title since 2007 and made the semifinals for the first time since 1968. For unknown reasons, the average stay for head coaches in AAAAA is 3.57 seasons, the shortest of any classification. The state average is 4.71.
