There are 47 former Georgia high school players on the rosters of the Division I service academy football teams this fall. Georgia has more players at Army (27) and Navy (17) than any other state. According to Ourlads.com, six Georgia players start for Army. They are center Peyton Reeder of Coosa, left tackle Alex Herndon of Calvary Day, running backs Kell Walker of Lakeside (Atlanta) and Artice Hobbs IV of Newton, nose tackle Kwabena Bonsu of South Cobb and safety Cam Jones of Dacula. Army head coach Jeff Monken spent 11 seasons on the staffs of Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech and was Georgia Southern's head coach from 2010 to 2013. Also according to Ourlads, three Georgia players start at Navy. They are center Ford Higgins of Greater Atlanta Christian, cornerback Michael McMorris of Buford and tackle Kendel Wright of Mountain View.
