Welcome to the final blog post of the 2017-18 school year. It has been a blast covering Class AA football and basketball, and A-5A and 6A-7A lacrosse. I look forward to doing so again in 2018-19.
And congratulations to the four lacrosse state champions, who were crowned on Saturday at Kennesaw State. The champions are:
- Lambert Longhorns (6A-7A)
- Milton Lady War Eagles (6A-7A)
- Blessed Trinity Titans (5A-7A)
- Blessed Trinity Lady Titans (5A-7A)

I just received the area alignments for A-5A. Lambert coach Josh Sagel told the AJC that the GHSA has signed off on the alignments for both 6A-7A and A-5A. In addition, A-5A will also play a 32-team playoff starting next year.
