How the game was won: What began as a scoreless battle through one quarter turned into an offensive thriller as Kell outlasted visiting Creekside. The Longhorns led for approximately six total minutes in the entire game, but they led when it mattered most after scoring what proved to be the game-winning touchdown with little more than one minute remaining. Creekside enjoyed a 27-10 advantage midway through the third quarter but could not seal the deal.

Top performers: Kell quarterback John Lampley rushed for a 20-yard touchdown and threw the clinching touchdown pass to Evan Carnes from 15 yards out. ... The Longhorns also got scoring runs from Dre Houston, Josiah Futral and Dequarius Manuel. ... Connor Mendelson opened the scoring for the Longhorns with a 32-yard field goal early in the second quarter. ... Creekside regained the lead at 33-30 thanks to a two-yard touchdown run by Felix Harper with four minutes left.
